Bagi pegawai kerajaan dan guru yang perlukan surat kebenaran ketua jabatan dan pengetua sekolah masing-masing untuk menghadiri forum ini, sila nyatakan nama jabatan dan sekolah Tuan/Puan bersekali dengan nombor faks jabatan dan sekolah yang berkenaan. Forum of Diversity of Languages in Borneo (FOKEBB) organized by Language and Literature Bureau in  collaboration with Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University Brunei Darussalam will  be held on 28-29 August 2013. The forum is aimed at establishing understanding, tolerance, solidarity, a spirit of togetherness and mutual appreciation in the midst of living as a nation with languages and multicultural practises in a country as well as placing importance on the mother tongue as a thinking and philosophy media in expanding culture, creativity, arts and creative industries. 

This year's FOKEBB theme is Language as a Social, Economic and Cultural Mosaic and will take place  at the Rizqun International Hotel. According to Dayang Hajjah Aminah, the forum are to highlight the existing languages and dialects in the country.

Bahasa, Identiti dan Kesinambungan Budaya Masyarakat Kadayan di Sarawak: Satu Perubahan - Prof. Dato Dr. Othman Yatim (Joint Paper)

Prof. Dato Dr. Othman Yatim
OTHMAN YATIM holds a Bachelor degree in History from the University of Malaya (1974), Master in Oriental Art (Ceramics) and a Ph.D degrees in Islamic Art both from University of Durham in England in 1978 and 1985 respectively. Currently he is attached to the Academy of Malay Studies, University of Malaya which he joined since 1996. Before this he served as the Director of Research at the Malaysian Museums Department (1974-1993) and Associate Professor at the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) from 1993 to 1996. He travelled extensively in the Malay world to conduct research on Malay and Islamic Art and authored a number of books on the subject. He had attended and presented papers at various seminars, workshops and conferences locally and internationally. He contributed and edited a number of articles for academic journals both at local and international levels. He retired from an active Malaysian goverment service in 2005 and since then was reemployed as a Contract Professor of Islamic Art at the University of Malaya until today. In 2007-2008 he was appointed by the Goverment of Malaysia to be the 4th Chairholder of the Chair of Malay Studies at the Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand. He services other local universities in various capacities such as Programmes and Courses Evaluator, Part Time Lecturer, External Examiners for Masters and Ph.D degrees and as a Referee for the promotion of Lecturers from Senior Lecturer to Associate Professor and from Associate Professor to full Professor. In recognition of his service and dedication to the States and Country he was awarded various titles and honours. The highest was Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) by the Sultan of Perak in 1977 which carries the title of Dato’.
